Hi Indy,
yes I rode from Calais down into spain ,then back up through st tropez,verdon gorge grenoble cannes, monacco,into Italy.
later in my trip I then rode through the mont blanc tunnel into Chamonix then headed up towards Germany.
around Grenoble it was very cold and wet and the fog in the mountains very thick. not much fun.but the French make the best bread and cakes.
yes I still plan on going to the usa in about 6 weeks.at this stage it looks like I will be buying a motorbike in florida and will head north and travel around the usa anti clockwise.
